• Drive Time: Approximately 2.5 to 3 hours (including a coffee break midway).

10:00 AM | The Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa Arrive in Alexandria and descend into the largest Roman burial site in Egypt.

• Highlights: The three-level underground maze, the central rotunda, and the "Caracalla Hall" containing horse bones. Look for the reliefs showing the god Anubis dressed as a Roman soldier—a rare fusion of cultures.

11:30 AM | Pompey's Pillar & Serapeum A short drive takes us to the site of the Serapeum, once the greatest temple in the city.

• Highlights: The massive granite Pompey's Pillar (27 meters high) and the sphinxes that guard the site.

01:00 PM | Seafood Lunch by the Sea Relax at a local restaurant overlooking the Mediterranean. Alexandria is famous for its fish and shrimp. (Vegetarian/Chicken options available).

02:30 PM | Citadel of Qaitbay Visit the fortress that stands guard over the Eastern Harbor.

• History: It was built in the 1470s by Sultan Qaitbay using stones from the collapsed Pharos Lighthouse (one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World).

• Activity: Explore the castle walls and enjoy the sea breeze.

04:00 PM | The Library of Alexandria (Bibliotheca Alexandrina) End your day at the modern architectural marvel that honors the ancient Great Library.

• Highlights: The massive sun-disk roof, the Reading Room (viewed from the gallery), and the exterior statues.

• Note: If the library is closed (holidays/Fridays), we will do a photo stop from outside and visit the nearby Roman Amphitheater instead.

05:00 PM | Return to Cairo We begin the drive back, arriving at your hotel in Cairo around 08:00 PM.
